Prices and estimates

All prices, ranges, calculator outputs and cost estimates on this site are indicative guide figures compiled from published market data and the other sources described in our pricing methodology. They are provided for general information and comparison only.

They are not quotations, not offers, and not a statement of the price you will be charged, and we are not a party to any contract you enter into with a tradesperson. Actual costs vary substantially with property type, condition, access, specification, materials, regional labour rates, timing and the individual contractor. Quotes for what appears to be the same job frequently differ by a wide margin for entirely legitimate reasons.

You should always obtain at least three written quotations before committing to work, and satisfy yourself as to the suitability, qualifications and insurance of any contractor you engage.

VAT, grants and regulations

VAT treatment, grant availability and eligibility criteria change, and are subject to the rules of the relevant scheme or the HMRC guidance in force at the time your work is carried out. We link to the primary source for each and state when it was last checked, but you should confirm your own position before relying on it.
